Your new company
Client is public sector organisation based in Brisbane's CBD. The team for variety of reasons are acting as a main contractor to deliver a large section of their works on their own asset. They are looking to engage an experienced Civil Site Engineer to work as part of the team.

Your new role
The role is akin to working as site engineer for main contractor. The team reports to different department acting as client and asset owner. The role involves working towards the head contract goals and then managing a series of specialist subcontractors to deliver the works as per schedule, closely managing cost, risk, QA, OHS. etc. So good stakeholder skills, good Contract Administration and an ability to drive good performance.
The Projects are large maintenance projects on a listed asset. They are multi-year and large budget projects.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate would have a Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering. You would ideally have couple of years experience ideally working for good main contractor or large subbie and therefore be used to working close to the action,
Candidates would need good technical understanding contract management, variations, scheduling works, etc.The nature of the role demands very strong communication skills to build collaborative relationships with providers and the asset owner team.
What you'll get in return
Our client is offering an interesting and varied role and bit of a legacy project. They are looking at good hourly rates - suggest $80-90ph plus super. They are looking at an initial 2 year contract, but likely extensions beyond. The role is based CBD with little or no travel required.
