Project Specialist - Studies

Project manage the studies phase of first stage development of a potential new mine in South Australia.

Your new company
Our client is among the world’s top producers of major commodities including iron ore, metallurgical coal, copper and uranium. They extract and process minerals, oil and gas from its production operations located primarily in Australia and the Americas.

Your new role
In this role, you will be working on an exciting project for a potential new mine in South Australia. You will support the Studies lead through the entire studies phase of the project to deliver the business objectives, which will need to be done with the company’s business requirements, code of conduct and values in mind.

In this role you will

  • Prepare the various studies phases of the project as directed by the lead.
  • Liaise with a variety of internal stakeholders to develop key project documentation
  • Clearly document any project changes and ensure an effective handover to the delivery team
  • Coordinate technical engineering input and be a single point of contact for engineering issues.
  • Support the process to optimise engineering scope whilst keeping project compliance and engineering standards at the forefront.
  • Coordinate risk management


What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this role, you will :-

  • Have experience working in early phase project development from an owner’s team or an engineering service provider in the heavy industry.
  • Familiar with risk management framework
  • Be competent in making key project decision and effectively communicate options and recommendations.
  • Have full working rights in Australia
  • Be able to work full time in South Australia


What you'll get in return
In return, you will have 18 months of work with the potential for this to be extended based on how the project develops. You will receive an hourly rate of $130 - $150 + super however a higher rate is available based on your experience and skill set. Please note, if you prefer to be engaged through your Pty Ltd company, we are able to accommodate this arrangement. You will be based in the Adelaide CBD office on a 5/2 roster with full time hours. You will be key in the early development of a significant addition to the SA mining sector that will be of huge benefit to the performance of the company and the state.
