Your new company
Our client is a major electricity and energy solutions provider to Queensland, the National Electricity Market and large energy users throughout Australia. They are creating a new lower carbon generation portfolio that is completed by energy storage and are driving the development of the renewable hydrogen export industry. Due to an increase in projects and workload they are looking to engage a Process Engineer (Chemical) with Hydrogen Electrolysis experience, where you will be joining the team working on the CQ- H2 project as part of the new portfolio development.

Your new role
Based in the Brisbane office this contract opportunity sees you joining the Growth and Futures Energy Team working on high-profile Renewable Projects. Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be assisting the project through its various stages providing project ideation and providing specialist input into the FEED study. Throughout the role you will also be responsible for the following:
  • Driving the development of large-scale hydrogen production plant.
  • Demonstrating safety leadership through a strong personal safety attitude and the development and application of systems and processes.
  • Developing an understanding of customer needs and product requirements.
  • Developing effective relationships across the corporation and influencing engineering decisions and standards by technical credibility and knowledge without direct line control
  • Ensuring consultants and OEMs/contractors deliver to the agreed quality, cost, and time.
  • Provide technology assessments and technology recommendations for the Project.
  • Provide process engineering expertise, ensuring risks are understood, controlled, and reduced to deliver safe and competitive solutions.

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed with your application, you will have significant experience in leading the design, development and deployment of new large-scale industrial plant/ projects. Your background will also demonstrate experience in hydrogen electrolysis and renewable energy, whilst also demonstrating experience evaluating new technologies for implantation on a large scale. You will also ideally have the following:
  • Proven track record of innovation, reducing costs and improving efficiency.
  • Familiarity with hydrogen and electrolysis technology and equipment providers.
  • Experience in working with third party consultants and OEM teams, including technical and contract negotiation and issues resolution.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, science or equivalent.
