Principal Track Engineer

Opportunity for an experienced rail engineer to lead the track design on a diverse portfolio of major projects

Your new company
Due to the continuous success of our clients’ national operations, they currently have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Track Engineer to join their rail team in Perth. As a world leader in infrastructure, they have been able to use their engineering expertise to complete some of Perth’s iconic projects

Your new role
The company is expanding its WA Rail Engineering team to support private and public sector projects across Western Australia. Your new role will include but not limited to:
  • Leading the track design, project and design management of rail projects across WA
  • Support management of the Rail team, in terms of technical development and growth, building design capability and supporting the growing rail portfolio.
  • Day-to-day management of the design team, including mentoring and assignment of designers
  • Monitoring the progress and performance of the project design team, giving input and providing feedback and support where necessary.
  • Coordinating the multi-discipline design and drafting resources assigned to allocated tasks to achieve agreed deliverable dates and man-hour budgets.
  • Consistently providing engineering designs and solutions within agreed milestone dates and to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.

What you'll need to succeed
You pride yourself for the part you play in the goal of improving the quality of life through sustainability. Your previous experience in a similar role within this area will lead to your success, as will:
  • Relevant tertiary education qualifications in Engineering with extensive experience in rail and track design
  • Extensive experience working on projects within the rail engineering sector
  • Demonstrated ability to working collaboratively with other members of the Transport engineering sections, providing input to project works and tender bids.
  • A strategic and innovative mindset with the ability to solve complex problems and take new perspectives to using existing solutions.
  • Intuitive leadership skills with the ability to initiate, lead and manage change in a complex environment.
  • Proven commitment to provide mentoring and identify avenues of professional development and succession planning to personnel within your team.
