National Service Manager

Experienced National Service Manager required for Global Manufacturer of Concrete Pumping Machinery

Our client strives to serve their customers to the best ability by consistently communicating with the businesses they partner with on a personable level.
Due to Growth Aspirations, they now require a highly experienced National Service Manager to steer the business in the right direction and to facilitate changes to garner success.
Reporting to the Managing Director this challenging role will be responsible for providing the Service and Production teams with ongoing operational direction, guidance and support whilst working closely with all internal and external stakeholders.

Your new role
In this role, your responsibilities will include:
  • Production operations and service planning model
  • Efficiently manage & direct all aspects of the workshop operations
  • Provide leadership, guidance & training to positively influence the service team
  • Identify and offer recommendations for growing and improving the performance of the division
  • Drive customer service excellence
  • Assist with preparation of financial plans, including revenue & margin forecasts, operating budgets & customer account development plans
  • Analysis and reporting on performance versus plan
  • Delivering training on solutions and provide product support to customers as well as other stakeholders
  • Inspection of new machines and performing quality pre delivery checks
  • Strong emphasis on WHS within the site and ensuring all stakeholders abide to regulations
  • Leading the Technical staff Australia Wide including contractors and suppliers
  • Supporting the Sales Department in all aspects of service related opportunities
  • Liaising with all subsidiary and parent company departments globally
  • Managing warranty and preventative maintenance service routines
  • Total people leadership, responsibility and accountability for the Profit & Loss of the Service Department


What you'll need to succeed
  • Established experience of 5 + Years working in a similar senior leadership position, managing a workshop combined with mobile technicians nationally
  • Advanced knowledge in mobile construction plant hydraulics, mechanical fitting and electrics eg: CAN bus and PLC controlled systems including the ability to read and understand complex electric and hydraulic schematics. Advanced Mechanical & Engineering skills desired / preferred and Trade Qualification
  • Strong leadership background – proven track record of managing a large team of manufacturing / fitting and mechanical staff – driving efficiency within a positive workplace
  • Understanding of P & L systems and ability to record and analyse to facilitate increased profits.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Sound computer literacy with experience using ERP systems
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a focus on high performance
  • Proven ability to build relationships with customers, fellow work colleagues and management
  • Strong leadership skills including outstanding communication (verbal and written) and motivational skills
  • Ability to evaluate and assess operations and respond to changing needs
