Mental Health Clinician

Regional WA opportunity with FIFO options, ideally looking for 0.6FTE.

This organisation is a leading not for profit provider of mental health youth and outreach services. Operating in Western Australia across several regions this organisation has established teams of highly skilled clinicians.

Your new role
As a Clinician you will be responsible for outreach clinical and support services specifically to youth and families.
Contribute to the development and delivery of a high-quality intake and mental health response to young people local to the region. Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with young people, their families and community services to ensure safe and high-quality care practices
  • Increase and promote client access to services by providing flexible care options
  • Conduct initial screening assessments and intake with young people and their families
  • Responding to referral requests in a timely manner and utilising agreed psycho-social assessments tools to determine suitability for service.
  • Deliver appropriate therapeutic intervention and care coordination
  • Participate in regular clinical case review meetings and multi-disciplinary team meetings
  • Provide specialist youth mental health support and consultation to stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed in this role you will require:

  • Registration as a mental health clinician with a degree in social work, psychology, occupational therapy or mental health nursing
  • Proven experience as a mental health practitioner in an outreach setting
  • Experience working and/or living in regional and remote communities working in small teams.
  • An in depth understanding of the barriers experienced by young people in their attempts to access services.
  • Sound understanding of the mental health sector and the clinical aspects of work
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, manage, mitigate and escalate risk as appropriate
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate sessions, activities and group work, in a regional environment
