Isolation Officer

Your new company
Our client, an international company specialised in Energy services, is recruiting an Isolation and Procedure Officer to work on a DIDO roster in a remote Power Plant in the Northern Territory.

Your new role
Directly reporting to the HSE Advisor, you will be responsible to develop and conduct quality audits on isolation plans, SOPs, and BC P&IDs, and provide site inductions to the staff on site. This is a temporary role with an on-going duration. The roster is DIDO with 5 days on / 2 days off and 9 hours of work a day.
Your key responsibilities will be:
  • Update, develop, and review isolation plans, statements and work permits, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), for isolation of the fixed plant for breakdowns, corrective, or planned maintenance, including shutdown activities.
  • Conduct quality audits on BC P&IDs, isolations, and SOPs in accordance with requirements applicable standards and legislative requirement, and report where isolations or SOPs have been breached and/or participate in investigations.
  • Schedule, coordinate and undertake training, site inductions to the staff, as well as toolbox meetings.
  • Monitor, communicate and implement any changes in the relevant Federal and NT legislation, regulations and standard.
  • Undertake and/or monitor risk assessments and maintain and/or ensure maintenance of a risk register for site work methods and activities and equipment as per the company and project requirements.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (Essential).
  • Previous experience in a HSE role, preferably in the Energy industry, but could also be in other industries (Oil & Gas, Construction, Mining) (Essential).
  • Experience with developing isolation plans and SOPs (Essential).
  • Industrial Process Trade, Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment, Certificate III in Process Plant Operations (Desirable).
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent computer literacy and strong attention to details.
