Heritage Advisor

Leading Energy Infrastructure business working on a major interstate project. Opportunity to for development.

Your new company
Our client is a leading energy infrastructure business with major assets across Australia. Due to an increase in workload, they are looking to engage a Heritage Advisor into their Environmental and Heritage Team to provide support on a major interstate project. You will be joining a supportive and collaborative team in a position that provides opportunity for development and engagement with key stakeholders.

Your new role
Reporting to the Heritage Lead you will be facilitating the assessment of heritage data whilst also engaging with regulators to share heritage related information. In addition, throughout the role you will be providing advice and support to key internal stakeholders regarding heritage requirements, risks and management measures to ensure the project is supported and accurate agreements are produced. The role will also entail the following:

  • Design, coordinate and oversee the delivery of Heritage surveys for the projects Heritage records.
  • Overseeing the engagement and performance of specialist consultants
  • Prepare Heritage agreements
  • Provide Heritage related training and coaching to project related personnel
  • Prepare Heritage data and submit for upload to GIS

As a member of the team, you will be supporting the development and progression internally as they look to further establish the stakeholder engagement aspect of the role through on-site project support. The role does require occasional site travel for stakeholder engagement

What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in the position, you will ideally have the following:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Archaeology or equivalent
  • Experience working in an archaeological field or equivalent
  • Highly- developed system skills with experience in databases and GIS
  • Knowledge of Heritage laws and regulatory frameworks
  • An aptitude for risk management, process and procedural improvement and business efficiency
  • Leadership capabilities in safety and sustainability, judgement and continuous improvement.
