Your new company
This State Government organisation is seeking an experienced Government Relations Advisor to join them on a temporary basis until November 2022 based in Parramatta.

Your new role
Your primary purpose will be to support the research, drafting, and coordination of ministerial and parliamentary materials. You will also support the broader Parliamentary and Government Services team in maintaining a robust, strategic, and efficient relationship between the Department and the Minister’s Officer.

Key Accountabilities:

• Undertake research, evaluation, and review of complex and sensitive issues relevant to the Department’s portfolio
• Interpret and synthesise complex advice to draft and coordinate the approval of correspondence on behalf of the Minister and other internal stakeholders (emphasis on messing, tone, and plain English)
• Tailor communication (written and verbal) to a diverse range of audiences to ensure customer satisfaction while adhering to the Minister’s style and the Department’s values
• Draft and coordinate ministerial and parliamentary documents (specifically correspondence) within the required timeframes and standards

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will be able to operate in a politically sensitive environment in which there may be tight deadlines. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to maintain workload. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant area or relevant experience in similar role is essential.

This role will provide you with an opportunity to assist this State Government organisation in a short-term assignment until November 2023. There will be training provided initially and for your dedication and hard work, you will be remunerated at $52-$56 per hour plus super. The role will be based in Parramatta with hybrid working arrangements.
