Your new company
Client is public sector authority with head office based in southern suburbs of Brisbane. They own and manage a large and varied property portfolio ranging from Commercial head office buildings through to civic sites, industrial facilities, retail and other smaller sites under management. They are looking for an experienced Facilities Manager to manage a sub-section of their assets, which broadly fit under Leisure and Community Service banding. They include community centres, leisure centres, entertainment hubs and artistic venues.

Your new role
The Property / Facilities team plays key role in the management of the property portfolio. Bulk of the work is delivered by external hard and soft service contractors; however they retain a smaller team of staff to provide the management oversight of the portfolio. This role has 2 key parts. First is the Facilities component, so managing the hard and soft services contractors that keep the spaces, clean, secure and well maintained. The second component is an oversight of the events team, so additional experience in events management, space utilisation and activation of public space, booking systems, etc would be looked upon favourably.

The role is a leadership role so people and financial management experience essential. As is the stakeholder management skill would expect in leading public service department with strong interface with the public and other interested parties.

What you'll need to succeed
Candidates would need to be experienced Facilities managers, ideally with relevant experience of sport, leisure and cultural assets. Candidates would need good experience of events management potentially in public sector so have some knowledge around utilisation of public assets. Is a leadership role, so experience in similar scale role with complicated stakeholders is preferred

Client offering an interesting and challenging role that offers genuine benefits to the community. Contract duration initially till end of the calendar year, but strong likelihood of extensions through 2023. Hourly rates $58.06ph plus super with some flexibility based on experience
