We are currently recruiting an exceptional Early childhood teacher to work at an amazing Long Day Care Centre in Ryde. This private family-owned centre runs on a strong commitment to participative, consultative, and collaborative management. The centre has a proven record of employing well above the standard level of trained, experienced, and qualified staff.
The management of the centre believes that within a secure, warm, and loving environment, children require both acceptance and challenge and they are given positive guidance within the bounds of age-appropriate acceptable behaviour by modelling fairness, equity, and social justice to all children. The centre acts as social advocate for children, plays an active role in the local community and participates in local activities helping the broader community understand the importance of early childhood.
Your new role:
As an ECT you will be required to work in a large, beautiful, and homely classroom throughout the week in the pre-school room (4-5 years old). Your role will involve planning the curriculum for the pre -school room which is based on emerging topics that interest the children, including a mix of activities and experiences which are child initiated and teacher led. All educators contribute to the program, ensuring that it is enriched with lots of meaningful, diverse and child led experiences. Staff and parents are actively encouraged to provide feedback and input for programmed activities, policies, and practices.
The management provides ongoing personal professional development program with formal training and ongoing workshops. Their aim is to retain the best staff by providing a satisfying and rewarding workplace that allows staff to grow and develop in all aspects of their lives. They invest in every staff member through the commitment of individualised training and development programs. They also work closely with other childcare professionals to constantly aim for high quality care. What you'll need to succeed:
- Bachelor of Education (early childhood education) approved by ACECQA
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with children, families, and professionals.
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with families, children, and other staff.
- Enthusiastic, motivated, professional, flexible, and reliable individual
- Strong verbal and non-verbal communication skills to support student understanding, engagement, and achievement.
- Must have a current NSW Working with Children Clearance.
- Working knowledge of EYLF and NQS
