You will be working for a leading organisation in Perth as a Director of Health & Safety.
Your new role
This is a permanent role leading and developing the WHS department to ensure appropriate, contemporary, and timely strategies to meet objectives and priorities to mitigate risks. You will be leading the development and implementation of a new model across the organisation and will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic risk management frameworks to manage critical WHS risks across the organisation.
You will be ensuring that the service is ensured is aligned and compliant across the business and reviewing and overseeing the University strategy for WHS that will support objectives. You will undertake programs, in-depth analysis, reviews and benchmarking to keep abreast of emerging issues in the area of WHS. You’ll also lead appropriate governance arrangements and communication processes to inform leaders of staff obligations and responsibilities under applicable legislation and regulations.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have extensive experience at a Senior level in the delivery & management of contemporary work health & safety programs in large complex organisations. You’ll also have possession of a tertiary and/or post graduate qualification in Occupational Health & Safety. Ideally you will have a strong understanding of contemporary work health and safety, injury management legislation, best practice and service delivery. You’ll be highly analytical with conceptual and problem-solving skills with a proven ability to provide innovative solutions to complex issues in a contemporary work health safety context. You must be able to give examples of your experience with identifying risk and prevention and quality improvement functions within a changing environment in accordance with all relevant legislation. This role will require a criminal record check and you must be fully vaccinated to apply for the role.
