Community Engagement Coordinator

2 months+ contract for an Events Community engagement officer with a public sector organisation

Your new role
The role undertakes a range of project work and other work assignments across the community engagement function to support and improve service delivery, and assists the team with all documentation, logistics, and promotional material to allow for smooth running of events.

1. Participate in and provide support to the development and administration of programs designed to enhance community resilience, such that communities are better informed of their responsibilities prior to and after fire events.
2. Assist with the development, update or review of community engagement educational materials and tools, to ensure that products are current, relevant and compliant, and meet the needs of the organisation.
3. Coordinate training programs and educational workshops that are tailored to meet audience needs, including evaluation and validation to ensure their effectiveness.
4. Participate in the development and implementation of strategies and frameworks aimed at ensuring research outcomes and information is effectively communicated.
5. Assist with the preparation of reports, plans, briefing notes and other submissions relating to the business activities of the section to meet internal and external requirements and provide secretariat support for committees and meetings to support their effectiveness.
6. Prepare and maintain a range of project documents, both electronically and in hard copy, including status updates, progress reports and budget updates to inform the project team and to meet internal requirements.
7. Provide timely advice and communication to relevant stakeholders to ensure that stakeholders are kept up to date, informed and remain engaged.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Genuine appreciation and understanding of a volunteer-based community service.
  • Customer Service experience
  • good understanding of Technology
  • Social media experience
