You will be working with a valuable council that work tirelessly on promoting services to the local community. With a futuristic focus, this council are looking to modernise the way it's community can connect and share their voice further and are seeking a Communications Officer to help push this vision.
Your new role
You will be managing the social media platforms, Communications relating to public relations and adhering to the organisational responsibilities. Your daily duties will include;
- Proactive posts and responding to customer service requests
- Developing new social media channels
- Monitor, track and report on social media statistics
- Identify, research and write short story articles for social media platforms
- Implement emergency management communications as required
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Excellent customer service and self-management skills
- Demonstrated ability to apply different writing styles for a range of communication channels
- Creative and lateral thinking skills
- High level of computer literacy
- Ability to work independently
- Proven experience writing and delivering a social media strategy for a large multi-audience organisation
- Knowledge and/or experience in HTML, search engine optimisation and online development methodologies + architectures
