APS6 Senior Program Officer

Initial 12 month non-ongoing contract | Hybrid working | Supporting new federal healthcare projects.

Your new company
This is an opportunity to join the Federal Government on a non-ongoing 12 month contract with extension options. This role will see you working across new projects focused on delivering new and exciting healthcare initiatives recently announced by the Federal Government.

This opportunity is being presented as a non-ongoing contract with opportunity for S26 transfer. Candidates with a preference for contracting however will also be considered.

Your new role
  • Effective program management and reporting.
  • Ability to apply good judgement and subject matter knowledge to make policy/program decisions.
  • Prepare draft correspondence, briefing papers, minutes, briefs and input to external requests for information.
  • Analyse applications and information from a range of sources to provide recommendations to working groups
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues in a team environment.
  • Engage positively and effectively with internal and external stakeholders to support policy development and program implementation

What you'll need to succeed
  • Experience in policy/program development, implementation and management, including demonstrated analytical skills to inform policy design and development.
  • Good project and program management skills.
  • Strategic and innovative thinking, ability to problem solve and be collaborative.
  • Organisational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills oral and written.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to build productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a small team to deliver results.
  • Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for own work and contribute to team outcomes.
  • A strong capacity to lead, mentor, develop, encourage and motivate others.
