Your new role
The Budgeting Finance Business Partner manages and delivers the internal and external budget framework for the agency. This role reports to the Director within the Finance and Corporate Performance Branch and participates in section planning and alignment of longer term plans with agency goals and objectives:
- Engage with key staff and management in budget preparation and discussions (including operating and capital budgets, project finance), lead costing exercises and manage reporting of forecast income and expenditure
- Manage the agency’s contribution to the Commonwealth Budget process including estimates updates, preparation of the Budget Statements and addressing Estimates Memoranda.
- Provide specialist advices in relation to complex problems and ensure quality of outputs for the work area
- Extensive experience in internal and external budgeting and management accounting.
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Accounting / Finance and demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Australian Accounting Standards, PGPA Act and the Department of Finance Reporting Guidelines
- Sound knowledge and experience in successfully managing and delivering results within time restraints and with competing priorities.
- Proven ability to communicate with influence, negotiate outcomes and manage complex stakeholder relationships, including across a geographically dispersed network.
- Proven conceptual and analytical abilities with sound knowledge of change management practices and techniques to enable innovation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff while developing capabilities, encouraging career development and embedding professionalism.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role you must be able to demonstrate the above listed skills, be able to work in a team environment, have experience working within a Federal Department / Agency, as would experience using TechOne or SAP with a current security clearance.
To be eligible for this role you must be a degree qualified Australian Citizen with a CA / CPA post qualification.
