A leading and global mining organisation with operations throughout Australia are seeking a fully remote Applications Support Engineer (in Australia) to work within their operational support team based out of Brisbane.

Your new role
Your new role will see you work within a professional and dedicated multi-disciplinary technology team comprised of Support, Network, System and DevOps engineers who support and ensure the running, upkeep and maintenance of a multitude of key systems (both mining specific and ‘generic’) that underpin the running of the organisation such as:

• TM1 Cognos (IBM)
• Hyperion Financial Management (Oracle)
• Deswik – FM, MDM, Suite
• Minemarket (Datamine)
• PI (OSISoft)
• RTDuet (RT Technologies)
• Labware
• Envirosys
• Monitor Pro
• EHS Manager 360 (SAI Global)

Whilst this team covers several different systems, you will be support these from an operational perspective and not functional i.e. focusing on when a system is down by checking logs, rebooting servers, configuring databases, etc and not functional issues (e.g. password reset, issues using the systems, etc).

For this role you will not need experience in the previously listed systems but rather need to be an experienced Microsoft specialist who has had experience across a variety of Microsoft technologies/eco systems who has experience in the operational running of systems and not end user support.

Whilst this team is located at this organisation’s digital hub in Townsville (Queensland) this role can be worked fully remote anywhere in Australia as long you can adhere to AEST (QLD) working hours/time zone and have access to your own device (with MS Teams installed so communication with the on-site team can be made).

If you are in a location where this organisation has an office (such as Townsville or Brisbane for example) then you have the option to work from the offices however this decision is up to yourself.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need experience/knowledge across the following:

• The Microsoft eco system (Windows Server 2012-2019, IIS, Active Directory, etc)
• Windows scripting experience –PowerShell
• Virtualisation technologies such as VMWare, Hyper-V, etc
• Working on large scale/enterprise level projects, networks and environments
• Working with individuals across all levels of an organisation
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Full Australian working rights
