A government organisation based in Parramatta, looking to develop their social media communications, campaigns and initiatives.

Your new role
As Social Media Officer, you will take ownership of creating, growing and nurturing social communities and bring both strategic and creative thinking to support the achievement of the organisation's objectives.

Duties include:
  • Develop, execute and drive Social Media strategy ensuring it adheres to the brand, increases engagement for multiple audiences and achieves objectives
  • Produce relevant and engaging content, including videos, images and graphics, to be shared across Social Media channels
  • Oversee and implement a social media content plan and schedule that aligns with objectives
  • Devise Social Media buy strategies to reach target audiences, developing influencer strategies, managing communities and monitoring content success
  • Build collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including on contentious issues
  • Provide analytical reporting with actionable insights to improve content performance across all paid, owned and earned Social Media channels and respond to the needs of stakeholders
  • Provide training and support where necessary to staff on how to use Social Media in a way that is consistent with the policy and guidelines, as well as providing guidance on sharing content
  • Campaign and content creation using effective media to convey messages and build social media presence


What you'll need to succeed

  • Tertiary qualification in Communications, Journalism, Marketing or Public Relations (or another relevant discipline), or another appropriate qualification.
  • Minimum 5 of experience producing and writing content for social media campaigns
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the social media landscape with high familiarity of platforms, trends and developments
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects/initiatives simultaneously and execute to completion within time frames
  • Extensive experience in social media content production, including shareable posts, video, images and graphics
  • High level of proficiency with data analysis, using analytics tools and reporting to track key analytics on social media performance.
  • Experience with paid social media campaign Mandatory
  • Experience with driving attendance to events via social media campaigns viewed upon favourably
