Power Station Manager

International Power Generation company is looking for a Power Station Manager for a permanent position.

Your new role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, Australia and working in conjunction with the shift managers, the Power Station Manager provides leadership and direction for contract management and all operations and maintenance related activities performed by the OMT team at the company’s power stations. The Power Station Manager is accountable to meet the objectives and targets including driving safe work practices, improving reliability and reducing costs. This role will be fly in fly out to various locations in the Goldfields.

Your responsibilities
  • Accountable for the safe day-to-day operations of the facility to ensure optimal usage of resources.
  • Accountable for ensuring the plant equipment is operated in such a way as to maintain short and long-term business requirements.
  • Work closely with the Shift Managers and Work Management Process Specialist for Work Management implementation and performance
  • Manage budgets and ensures variances are accounted for and dealt with accordingly.
  • Dispatching of operating assets to meet the contracted position for both liquid and gas fuels.
  • Responsible for the on-going training and development of the staff.
  • Development and maintenance of a strong relationship with the site-based staff of our customer, ensuring open communications and collaborative problem solving at all times.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Understand local Electrical Market and Market Strategies
  • Extensive experience in Power Generation industry along with solid experience in supervisory, management and/or leadership positions, with a demonstrated progression in attaining and successfully performing in more senior roles
  • Ability to create and manage plant operating budgets
  • Ability to develop and manage operating and KPI budgets
  • Demonstrated capability in developing, implementing, and managing a 3-12 month business plan
  • Assess Plant and Equipment risk to mitigate plant risk.
  • Develop employees skills to be able to deliver plant target and objectives
