Your new role

Our client is the market leader in Collections industry and our now looking for an experienced leader to join their team. Your new role As the collections team leader, you will be responsible for executing strategies to hit KPI’s that our agreed upon with the managers. As the department’s objective is to maximise collections for their clients, it is important that you have excellent negotiation skills and strong resource management to make this happen. To do this you will need to be able to collaborate with areas internal and external to accelerate the process. Other Responsibilities will include:
  • Co-ordinate processes that will result in effective monitoring & allocation of resources based on dialler campaigns
  • Implement and oversee day-to-day operations to ensure optimal staff utilisation balanced to the achievement of planned outcomes
  • Achievement of designated service level and abandon rate goals at a weekly, daily, and intraday level across each team
  • Ensure effective communication of the daily strategies are executed
  • Maintaining a high degree of motivation, maximising all opportunities to maintain competence on all key performance metrics
  • Ensuring timely problem resolution of disputes and other Collection related queries
  • Motivate and coach staff to deliver exceptional performance
  • Resolve escalated issues
  • Monitor department service quality and take corrective action, as needed
  • Direct resources according to Forecasting model
  • Mentoring and setting clear expectations to staff


What you'll need to succeed

To be set up for success in this role you will need to demonstrate the following:
  • Five years’ experience in collections
  • Be able to work on a rotating roster
  • Experience in a leadership role in a government environment
  • High-level communication skills both verbal and written
  • Commercial aptitude with the ability to analyse data and report on it at all levels
  • Be able to coordinate and run training sessions and manage staffing levels to meet call volume and key performance indicators
  • Most importantly coach and develop high performance debt collection Team Members to meet business revenue targets
