Your new company
This well-known Federal Government Department is seeking 2 x APS6 Regulatory Assessment Officers to join their dynamic team due to a restructure. You will join a Branch that is Australia's national vehicle standards regulator that works to enhance vehicle safety.

Your new role
You will undertake a range of activities in relation to the assessment of a variety of application types. You may also be tasked to undertake policy development and regulatory improvement activities. You duties will include but are not limited to:
  • Developing and contributing to the development of policy, procedures and standards.
  • Assessing applications under relevant Act.
  • Contributing to the assessment of applications by others to provide technical input or advice on the application.
  • Undertake quality checks on assessments or work completed by others.
  • Analysing and assessing information gathered as a result of assessment and assurance activities.
  • Liaise with Industry and Government agencies including state and territory regulators and other Australian Government agencies.
  • Engaging with stakeholders about their applications and the related policy and standards, including developing written requests for further information.
  • Contributing to risk-based assurance or review activities such as audits.
  • Contribute to planning and monitoring of work processes for the team.
  • If required coordination and supervision of research to inform the development of standards and regulation.
  • If required undertake field of duties such as inspections.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful for the positions you will have previous experience within a similar position and the Federal Government. You will also have strong analysis skills and attention to detail, the ability to applying technical qualifications and/or experience, demonstrated experience in risk management, assurance and stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications or demonstrated experience in the automotive sector, risk management, compliance, regulation, manufacturing and/or engineering will be highly regarded.

To be considered for this role you will need to be an Australian citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a Government Security Clearance at the Baseline level or higher.
